He is leaving: Sheffield Wednesday  head coach paralyzed after confirming the departure of his defender Reece James due to….

Sheffield Wednesday defender Reece James is a transfer target for several League One clubs, including Rotherham United, according to The Star. This summer, many senior players are expected to leave Sheffield Wednesday.

As confirmed by their retained list, versatile defender Reece James will depart at the end of his contract, along with George Byers, Lee Gregory, Ciaran Brennan, Tyreeq Bakinson, and Juan Delgado.

Meanwhile, Barry Bannan, Di’Shon Bernard, Dominic Iorfa, Liam Palmer, Will Vaulks, Cameron Dawson, and Josh Windass have been offered new contracts.

Rotherham United, recently relegated, is reportedly interested in the 30-year-old James, who played 45 games for Sheffield Wednesday, including 11 in the 2023/24 season. Other League One and League Two clubs are also interested in him, with talks expected to begin this week.

James was a key player in Sheffield Wednesday’s promotion-winning 2022/23 season but had limited game time after a permanent move last summer, as he was a signing backed by former manager Darren Moore. Under Xisco and Danny Rohl, James struggled to secure a spot in the team despite his versatility and experience.

James, who can play as a wing-back, full-back, left-sided center-back, or defensive midfielder, could be a valuable addition for Rotherham United. The Millers have already signed Jonson Clarke-Harris, Joe Rafferty, and Shaun McWilliams as new manager Steve Evans rebuilds the squad. Adding James, along with fellow Sheffield Wednesday player George Byers, would bring more League One experience to the team.
