Guardians’ three-game winning streak halted by 4-0 defeat to Texas Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Guardians concluded 16 consecutive days and nights of baseball, including a seven-game road trip, on Wednesday night at Globe Life Field.

They weren’t out of energy, but they were defeated 4-0 by a Texas team that needed the win more. This loss ended Cleveland’s three-game winning streak and snapped the defending World Series champions’ five-game losing streak.

The Guardians, finishing 8-8 over the 16 games, returned to Cleveland late Wednesday night for a much-needed off day on Thursday. They will begin a three-game series against the Twins on Friday, with first place in the AL Central on the line.
