Six Tennessee baseball players receive SEC honors
Six Tennessee baseball players received SEC honors for their performance this season when the conference announced its awards on Monday afternoon.
Four Vols were named to the All-SEC team: second baseman Christian Moore and outfielder Dylan Dreiling to the First Team, and first baseman Blake Burke and outfielder Kavares Tears to the Second Team. Tennessee’s four players on the first and second teams were the second most of any team in the league.
Burke and Tears were also named to the All-Defensive Team, while shortstop Dean Curley was selected for the Freshman Team. Curley is the fifth Tennessee player during the Tony Vitello era to be named to the SEC All-Freshman team.
Junior RHP Drew Beam was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, making him the fourth Vol to earn this honor and the third player to do so under Vitello, joining Nico Mascia (2018) and Garrett Stallings (2019).
