The Tarheel Wrestling Club, affiliated with the University of North Carolina’s wrestling community, made significant announcements on Monday through its social media platforms.

According to its website, “the THWC is a USA Wrestling chartered club and an official Regional Training Center site that operates in accordance with all NCAA, USA Wrestling, and U.W.W rules and regulations. The THWC provides coaching and training opportunities for wrestlers of all ages, from youth to senior-level athletes.”

Vincenzo Joseph, a two-time NCAA champion and three-time finalist for Penn State, previously served as an assistant coach at Stanford and was the recruiting director for Arizona State. Joseph was also a two-time U.S. Open runner-up in men’s freestyle and competed at 74 kg at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. He will collaborate with other Tarheel Wrestling Club staff and resident athletes.

Dom LaJoie, a two-time NCAA qualifier for Cornell who transferred to Stanford as a graduate student, placed fifth in the Pac-12 Championships. He was a three-time Michigan champion for Gaylord High School.

Tyler Eischens, a three-time NCAA qualifier for Stanford who completed his college career as an NCAA qualifier for North Carolina, was a state champion and three-time runner-up for Anoka High School in Minnesota. Eischens is expected to compete at 77 kg in Greco-Roman, having competed at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and placed seventh in the 2023 U23 World Championships in Greco-Roman.
