breaking news: VAR apologize to the Wolves about their inability to……

Wolves have informed Premier League competitors that VAR is heightening the risk of injury to their players, advocating for the system’s removal before the next season. In a detailed six-page document shared with all other top-tier clubs and reviewed by Mail Sport, Wolves argue that English football would be better off without VAR. They intend to push for a vote at the Premier League shareholders’ meeting on June 6, which requires a 70 percent majority to pass.

Although the likelihood of this happening is slim, Wolves hope their initiative will spark a broader discussion about the flaws of VAR, potentially leading to long-term improvements. One of their key points is that VAR-induced delays are extending the length of matches, thereby increasing the strain on players.

The document, distributed on May 20, states: “Due to the stoppages in play that VAR introduces, added time at the end of Premier League matches has more than tripled since its implementation. This has resulted in matches frequently exceeding 100 minutes, disrupting broadcasters and heightening both the workload and injury risk for our players.”
