From John Randle to Geno Atkins to Aaron Donald, I’ve always had an affinity for the potential of smaller defensive tackles. So, when McNeill caught my attention in 2020, it was no surprise that I appreciated his disruptive play.
Standing at 6’1⅞” and weighing 317 pounds, McNeill was drafted by the Lions in the third round of the 2021 draft. Though it took some time for him to get the necessary reps to become a significant force on Detroit’s defensive line, he succeeded in doing so by 2023.
Last season, McNeill recorded six sacks and 43 total pressures, often outplaying Pro Bowl-level guards and centers.
