Tyson Jugnauth Signs with Coachella Valley Firebirds
According to the AHL transactions page, defenseman Tyson Jugnauth has signed with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
At the time of writing, neither the Seattle Kraken nor Coachella Valley had announced the signing, so it’s unclear if he signed an entry-level contract.
Drafted in the fourth round, 100th overall, by the Seattle Kraken in the 2022 NHL draft, Jugnauth scored 41 points in 41 games this season and 16 points in 18 playoff games for the Portland Winterhawks.
The 20-year-old played two years at the University of Wisconsin before joining the Winterhawks for the 2023-24 season.
Known for his good skating and offensive instincts, Jugnauth can contribute offensively from the back end for the Firebirds.
Coachella Valley recently advanced to the Western Conference Finals after sweeping the Ontario Reign in three games. They will face the winner of the Milwaukee Admirals and Grand Rapids Griffins series.
