IT’S A SMART MOVE: Caitlin Clark has finally break the all-time scoring record for the NCAA…..
Caitlin Clark has been a prominent figure in sports in 2024. Formerly a standout player for the Iowa Hawkeyes in college basketball, she now represents the Indiana Fever in the WNBA after being selected as the number one draft pick.
In February, she shattered the all-time scoring record for the NCAA, drawing significant attention to her exceptional skills. Despite her individual success, the Fever are having a challenging season.
When she set the NCAA scoring record, it was a memorable night at Carver-Hawkeye Stadium. The crowd went wild, but her family was the most ecstatic.
Clark celebrated that day with her close-knit family, who have been integral to her development. Her father, Brent, played college basketball at Simpson College, a Division III school in Iowa, and understands the sport well. He reminisced in a 2023 interview with KCRG, “I don’t recall her ever missing a shot. The baskets were at five or six feet. She would just pull up from the free throw line and swish. She could also really handle the ball at that age.”
Her mother, Anne Nizzi-Clark, is the daughter of Bob Nizzi, a former football coach, counselor, and administrator at Dowling Catholic, where all the Clark children attended school.
Caitlin has two brothers, Blake and Colin. Blake, who is slightly older, is a former college football quarterback and also played basketball. Caitlin remarked that he knows the game “really, really well.” Colin, the youngest, participated in basketball and track and field at Dowling, always receiving strong support from his older siblings.
