Coventry City F.C. agreed to sign a forward who is Brazilian-Australian.

Raphael Borges Rodrigues is the latest player to join Sky Blues from Australian team Macarthur FC, pending approval from the EFL and FA. He has signed a contract until 2028.

Raphael began his career with Melbourne City Academy in 2017. He made his first start for Melbourne City in the Melbourne Derby in June 2021 and was named on the bench for the 2021 A-League Grand Final before scoring his first professional goal in March 2022.

After playing 17 games and scoring 2 goals for Melbourne City, he transferred to Macarthur FC in June 2023. Last season, he scored 6 goals in 33 appearances for the Sydney-based team.

Born in the Netherlands, Raphael, who is Brazilian-Australian, moved to Australia at the age of 5 and has represented Australia at youth level.

In an interview on the club’s website, Manager Mark Robins said, “We are really pleased to welcome Rapha to the club. He is a talented and athletic winger who had an impressive 2023/24 season. Rapha has some great attributes and a willingness to work and learn, and I’m sure we will enjoy his development during his time with us.”
