its a done deal: Another mega star player committed to the Oklahoma Sooners just…..
The past week has been quiet for Oklahoma in terms of recruiting and on-campus activities. With the Sooners’ current players away for summer break and high school prospects finishing up their school year, the recruiting calendar is about to get much busier.
Over the next three months, there will be numerous prospect camps, recruiting visits, and commitments nationwide. For Oklahoma, the Brent Venables Elite Camp starts in early June, during which many offers will be extended.
Despite the light period, Oklahoma’s staff managed to land in the top four schools for a 4-star defensive back and offered four new high school prospects.
Here’s a recap of the recent recruiting news for the Sooners:
On Thursday, 4-star defensive back Omarion Robinson announced his “Final Four” schools on social media, including LSU, Arkansas, Oregon, and Oklahoma. He also mentioned he would no longer visit Georgia. Robinson, from Little Rock Parkview (AR), is 6-foot and 180 pounds, ranked No. 117 overall and No. 15 safety in the 2025 class. If Robinson commits to Oklahoma, he will join fellow Arkansas safety Marcus Wimberly in Brandon Hall’s group. Robinson has visited Norman several times and has an official visit to Arkansas planned for early June.
This week, Oklahoma extended offers to four high school prospects. The offers began with Great Bend, KS, tight end Ian Premer, who is 6-6 and 210 pounds, ranked No. 63 overall and No. 4 tight end in the 2026 class. Premer, also a basketball standout, holds offers from Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Penn State, and others.
On Wednesday, OU offered 2027 Bergen Catholic (NJ) wide receiver Bryan Porter. At 6-0 and 190 pounds, Porter received his third offer from Oklahoma, following Boston College and Michigan. He is the younger brother of 4-star 2025 pass catcher Quincy Porter, who included Oklahoma and Michigan in his top six schools earlier this month.
Additionally, Venables and company offered 2027 Lake Wales (FL) athlete Kaneilius Purdy, listed at 6-0 and 190 pounds. Purdy has offers from Florida State, West Virginia, and others.
Oklahoma rounded out the week by offering 2027 Washington (OK) linebacker Case Alexander. At 6-3 and 195 pounds, Alexander is the younger brother of former Warriors tight end Cooper Alexander, who will be a freshman at Iowa State in 2024. The Sooners offered Cooper late in his recruitment but ultimately missed out on the 3-star prospect. Case and Cooper are sons of former Oklahoma tight end Stephen Alexander, a nine-year NFL veteran and one-time Pro Bowler.
