One of the most cherished traditions of the Tennessee Vols is reportedly set to be featured in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 game.
The Tennessee Volunteers boast some incredible traditions that have become iconic during football gamedays in Knoxville over the years. Perhaps the most famous is “running through the T,” where the Vols take the field by running through the band arranged in a T formation.
Fans anticipating the release of the new EA Sports College Football 25 game in July will be pleased to know that this beloved Tennessee tradition will be featured. According to On3 Sports’ Andy Staples, who had early access to the game, the Vols’ running through the T is included and meticulously detailed.
“They’ve nailed how each band forms up on the field,” Staples mentioned. “134 bands, all in their precise real-life formations. So, if you’re playing as Tennessee and emerging from the tunnel at Neyland Stadium, the band will form the T. You’ll run through the vertical section of the T, take a sharp left at the 90-degree angle, and head towards the sideline in the horizontal part of the T.”
Actually, it should be a sharp right turn to the sideline, Andy, but the point stands—assuming the designers got it right.
Tennessee fans can look forward to experiencing the thrill of one of college football’s most legendary entrances. EA Sports has reportedly prioritized realism in this game, a commitment echoed by many familiar with the game’s development since its return was announced.
Additionally, it was previously revealed that the game will include another newer tradition: the Neyland Stadium crowd will be checkered. For Tennessee fans seeking an authentic gameday atmosphere, it sounds like EA Sports is doing an impressive job of recreating it.
