The Pittsburgh Steelers are renowned for developing outstanding defenders over the years. Linebacker Jack Lambert, a player of unmatched ferocity, is at the forefront. It was Lambert’s singular combination of cunning, agility, violence, and resilience that elevated a solid defense to the famed Steel Curtain of the 1970s.

Lambert played for the Black and Gold club for 11 seasons during which he contributed to four Super Bowl victories. He was a nine-time Pro Bowl player and a six-time First Team All-Pro. In 1974 and 1976, he won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame on the first ballot in recognition of his noteworthy accomplishments to football.
