HE IS COMING: Another star wide receiver Daewood Davis committed to the Carolina Panthers just…….

One of the leading receivers in the UFL is making the jump to the NFL. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Carolina Panthers plan to sign Memphis Showboats wide receiver Daewood Davis, pending a physical examination.

Davis is coming off his best professional season, where he led Memphis with 41 receptions, 446 yards, and five touchdowns. This week, he was named to the All-UFL team, being the sole representative from the Showboats.

This will be Davis’ second opportunity in the NFL. He previously played for the Miami Dolphins last year, participating in three preseason games before being cut on an injury settlement after being carted off the field in the final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In college, Davis began his career at Oregon before transferring to Western Kentucky, where he amassed 1,635 yards and 15 touchdowns in 26 games, earning Conference USA Honorable Mention in 2022.

Davis will be the second UFL player to sign with an NFL team this week, following former Birmingham Stallions kicker Ramiz Ahmed, who joined the Washington Commanders. Ahmed played only part of the season, making Davis the first full-season UFL player to sign with the NFL.

Other UFL players are also drawing attention, such as D.C. Defenders defensive end Malik Fisher, who recently had a workout with the Baltimore Ravens. More UFL players are expected to secure NFL contracts before training camp in July.
