Warriors get a boost, Cowboys lose two players to Origin duties

Both coming off a bye, the Cowboys and One New Zealand Warriors aim to extend their recent winning streaks in their match in Townsville tonight (5:30pm local time; 7:30pm NZT).

After securing consecutive wins following a period of struggles earlier this year, both teams are eager to stay in contention for the top eight as they near the season’s midpoint.

The Warriors, following their round 13 bye, are bolstered by the return of six key players with over 800 games of NRL experience.

The Cowboys, who delivered an impressive victory over the Roosters on Sunday, may have their depth challenged again as six of their stars participated in the State of Origin series opener on Wednesday night.

Having secured three consecutive wins, coach Todd Payten is keen to maintain their momentum but faces a formidable challenge against a Warriors team that welcomes back New South Wales Origin squad member Mitch Barnett.
