Smart move: Another talented star player committed to the Birmingham City just now and he is ready to…..
A former Hearts talent is sparking a transfer chase in the EFL, with Birmingham City showing interest.
Marc Leonard, who developed in the Hearts youth academy before moving to Brighton in 2018, has caught attention after impressive loan spells at Northampton Town in League One and League Two.
According to Sky Sports, Birmingham City have initiated contact with Brighton about signing Leonard. Despite their recent relegation to League One, Championship teams like Cardiff City and Oxford United are also interested. Hollywood-backed Wrexham is another contender for his signature. Leonard has one year left on his contract with Brighton, with an option to extend for another year.
Reflecting on his 2019 departure from Hearts, Leonard said, “I really liked Craig Levein, who was the director of football and great with all of us. However, the style of play changed when I stepped up, and it didn’t suit me as a midfielder. The level at Brighton is much higher across all age groups, which pushed me to improve my physical attributes to keep up.”
