The Sooners are fresh off their fourth consecutive national title, and head coach Patty Gasso assured fans during the June 8 championship celebration.

“Just be patient, we’re losing 10 seniors,” Gasso said. “We’re going to rebuild this into something wonderful.”

Sophomore infielder Avery Hodge is reported to have entered the transfer portal, according to a June 10 report by D1Softball’s Justin McLeod.

Hodge, who alternated at second base with Alynah Torres, posted a .284 batting average in 74 at-bats for the Sooners in 2024. During Torres’ injury at the Women’s College World Series against UCLA, Hodge stepped up, going 4 for 12 against Florida and Texas.

Hodge’s double in an elimination game against the Gators kept OU’s hopes alive, and she scored the game-tying run.

With Torres finishing her eligibility, Hodge was anticipated to play a key role for the Sooners next season. The Richmond, Texas native has two years of eligibility left.

Redshirt sophomore utility Quincee Lilio has also entered the transfer portal, as reported by D1Softball’s Justin McLeod on June 10.

Lilio saw limited action in 2024, ending the season with a .129 batting average in 31 at-bats. She was ranked a top-five overall prospect in the 2022 class by Extra Inning Softball.
