SO SAD: After a 3-1 win over Wrexham, he is gone……

Wrexham fell to third place in League Two after a 3-1 loss at Walsall.

Jack Earing’s shot into the bottom right corner gave Walsall the lead, which Paul Mullin later equalized.

Tom Knowles was penalized for a handball in the box, and Mullin converted the penalty.

Isaac Hutchinson’s free-kick put Walsall back in front after the break, and Taylor Allen’s close-range effort on the counterattack secured a well-deserved win.

The result ended Wrexham’s three-game winning streak, while Walsall climbed to 13th in the table with consecutive victories.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson commented: “Obviously, it’s disappointing to lose. I thought the first half was a good game, with both teams playing well.

“In the second half, Hutchinson’s goal gave them a huge boost of energy.

“Both teams had played back-to-back games, and the goal gave them an adrenaline lift. We struggled to respond today.

“We probably tried to force things after that.”
