Sheffield Wednesday academy graduate Bailey Cadamarteri is reportedly attracting interest from three Premier League clubs, according to the Sheffield Star.
The 18-year-old made a significant impact for the Owls last season, scoring four goals in 23 league appearances as the team successfully avoided relegation from the Championship.
After making his league debut for Wednesday in November, the striker scored three times in his first seven matches, prompting the club to offer him a long-term contract.
Despite his commitment to the club, the Star reports that several top-tier clubs, as well as other Championship teams, are interested in the young talent.
Cadamarteri had already drawn attention before playing for the Owls, with Brentford and West Ham United expressing interest in him before he signed a professional contract with his boyhood club.
He eventually signed with the club in 2022 and made his debut in the EFL Trophy later that year, coming on as a late substitute in a 2-0 win over Leicester City.
After waiting a year for another first-team opportunity, Cadamarteri was included in the squad for a match against Millwall last November, appearing as a half-time substitute at Hillsborough.
The son of former Premier League player Danny Cadamarteri quickly established himself in Sheffield, scoring his first goal on his second start for the club just five minutes into a game against Blackburn Rovers in December.
He continued to impress with goals against Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers before Christmas, showcasing his potential.
Recently, Cadamarteri has also gained international recognition, playing in matches for England’s Elite Squad (formerly under-20s) against Sweden and the Republic of Ireland.
Given his recent performances, it’s no surprise that Premier League clubs are interested in him, although the Star did not specify which clubs are considering a move for the young striker.
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl has expressed his high regard for Cadamarteri’s abilities, having consistently shown faith in the young striker since his arrival at Hillsborough. The German coach gave Cadamarteri a chance against Millwall just weeks into his tenure and has continued to support him.
