Sydney Roosters Forge Historic Partnership with USA Rugby League
The Sydney Roosters are delighted to announce a strategic partnership with the USA Rugby League (USARL), appointing them as their Game Development Partner for at least the next three years.
This significant collaboration highlights the Roosters’ dedication to expanding rugby league globally and fostering talent across borders.
The partnership will include several initiatives to enhance rugby league development in the United States, such as:
**Roosters West Coast Rugby League Academy**: The Sydney Roosters will sponsor the Roosters West Coast Rugby League Academy, which aims to identify and develop young rugby league talent and provide elite coaching and training programs for both boys and girls across the US, with a base on the West Coast. The Academy will host camps throughout the year, with support from Roosters coaching staff.
**USA National Elite Youth Team Sponsorship**: The Sydney Roosters will be the major sponsor for the USA National Elite Youth representative team participating in the European Championships in Serbia this July, featuring the Roosters West Coast Academy logo on the front of the team jerseys.
**USA National Hawks Sponsorship**: The Sydney Roosters will be the back-of-shorts partner for the Men’s and Women’s USA National Hawks teams and the Referees Sponsor for the USARL domestic competition, with their logo appearing on national team shorts and referee shirts. From the second year, the Roosters logo will also appear on all footballs used in training and matches across domestic competitions.
**Club Development Fund**: Annual funding will be provided for a Club Development Fund, allowing clubs from the four conferences (Pacific Coast Rugby League (PCRL), Utah, Rugby League United, and Florida Rugby League) to apply for support in promoting rugby league awareness and participation in their regions.
“We are extremely excited to partner with USA Rugby League,” said Sydney Roosters CEO Joe Kelly. “This landmark agreement offers a unique opportunity to extend rugby league’s reach and share our expertise with a passionate and growing community in the United States. We believe this partnership will significantly impact the sport’s international growth and help discover future rugby league talent in the US.”
USARL Chair Matt Goschnick commented on the substantial investment and commitment from the Sydney Roosters and its significance for the sport’s growth in the United States. “We hope it encourages further investment in the game across the nation by the NRL and other partners as we continue to raise awareness and development.
“This is an exciting day and a major milestone for rugby league in the United States with the new partnership between the Sydney Roosters and the USARL,” said Mr. Goschnick.
