“Rangers boss Secure Deal to Part Ways with Player, Involving $30 Million”

Clinton Nsiala is unlikely to make a significant impact at Rangers right away after being signed from AC Milan, according to the Daily Record.

The publication reported on June 14 that the 20-year-old defender is seen as a “project signing,” with the hope that he will follow the path of Calvin Bassey in developing at the club and eventually being sold at a substantial profit.

Despite being included in first-team squads for the Italian giants, Nsiala has never played in senior football. Thus, his performance in Glasgow remains uncertain.

Nsiala became the third confirmed signing of the summer, having agreed to a pre-contract on July 1, joining full-back Jefte and a loan-to-buy deal for winger Oscar Cortes.

While this low-risk, high-reward move could be a masterstroke if successful, there is little harm done if Nsiala does not contribute as significantly as Bassey did three seasons ago. Given that Nsiala was acquired for free and is unlikely to command high wages initially, the impact on the club would be minimal.

If the manager and Nils Koppen can bring in enough experienced reinforcements to bolster the squad from the start next season, Nsiala can focus on development in the background. However, if he is required to step up early, it may indicate ongoing injury issues or a dip in form among other players.

In other Rangers-related news, a “real issue” at Ibrox suggests a first-team player could leave permanently this summer.
