SO SAD: Sergei Bobrovsky announces his leaving after the match due to his…..

For the first time in the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Florida Panthers have a goalie other than Sergei Bobrovsky in the net. Anthony Stolarz, who was excellent as Florida’s backup during the regular season, replaced Bobrovsky 4:59 into the second period of Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final after the Oilers scored five goals on 16 shots against the Vezina Trophy finalist.

Bobrovsky had been in goal for Florida throughout the entire postseason, entering Saturday with a 2.07 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage, and two shutouts across 20 playoff games.

In the first three games against Edmonton, he had an impressive .953 save percentage, stopping 82 of 86 shots, including a 32-save shutout in Game 1. However, on Saturday, the Oilers relentlessly attacked and finally broke through Bobrovsky’s defenses.

Mattias Janmark, Adam Henrique, and Dylan Holloway scored in the first period, with Janmark’s goal being shorthanded, giving Edmonton a 3-1 lead after the first 20 minutes.

Connor McDavid and Darnell Nurse added goals in the first 4:59 of the second period, ending Bobrovsky’s night early. This substitution marked Stolarz’s first-ever playoff appearance in his eight-year NHL career.

The 30-year-old goaltender had a regular season record of 16-7-2 over 27 appearances (24 starts), with a 2.03 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.
