Breaking: Birmingham City have accept a transfer from….

Birmingham City are one of six clubs with an offer on the table for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Marc Leonard, according to a report on social media.

The Seagulls star has been linked with a handful of Championship clubs over the last 18 months and a departure looks likely. Leonard has returned to the Amex Stadium after a loan at Northampton Town and the Premier League club are ready to cash in on the reported interest.

Darren Witcoop, a former Sunday Mirror Sports News Editor said: “Marc Leonard has six offers on the table with Brighton ready to sell the midfielder for £400,000. Clubs from Championship, League One and abroad all interested in striking a deal.”

Witcoop used the hashtags of Oxford United, Coventry City, Cardiff City, Birmingham and Derby County, giving a potential sight in the teams that have made an approach. A fee of £300,000 was reported by Football Insider several months ago but that has seemingly increased by £100,000 to £400k.

Austrian outfit Sturm Graz and Legia Warsaw of Poland are also said to hold an interest in Leonard. Birmingham are believed to fancy their chances despite other clubs playing in a higher division than them. According to BirminghamLive, Blues are looking for players that are ‘durable’ and he is a player that fits the bill.

He has just come off a campaign that saw him score five goals and register six assists. Leonard played in all 46 league games for Northampton and won swooped up at the Player of the Year awards dinner.
