There’s surprise in Brazil as Sport Recife have announced they’ve agreed a deal to sell Pedro Lima to Wolves this summer.
It’s such a surprise in Brazil because for quite a while it’s been thought the youngster would on his way to Chelsea. Indeed, the deal has been considered as almost done at multiple points, with Lima being part of Chelsea’s efforts to secure some of the best youngsters in South America.
Globo Esporte are carrying the transfer news and they say Sport Recife have officially announced the “cession of economic and federative rights” to Wolves.
Further details of the transfer to Gary O’Neil’s side are set to be made in a further statement from the Brazilian club, a statement which will be made in July once the player turns 18-years-of-age
Club official João Marcelo Barros had travelled to London, with the belief that was to finalise the details of a move to Chelsea.
He’s now quoted by Globo Esporte as saying: “The agreement has been signed between the clubs. Pedro turns 18 on July 1st, when he will be able to formally sign a contract and undergo standard procedures such as clinical examinations. Once approved, we will complete the deal and be able to share the details
