The Arkansas-Missouri SEC softball tournament game has been postponed until Friday at 9 a.m.

Arkansas had a game scheduled for Thursday at the SEC softball tournament in Auburn, but the Razorbacks couldn’t complete it.

Due to weather delays, the game was postponed until Friday morning at 9 a.m. Missouri, the fifth seed, was leading fourth-seeded Arkansas 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning when play was suspended.

Originally set for a 1 p.m. start, the game didn’t begin until 8:05 p.m. and was halted at 9:24 p.m.

The single-elimination tournament at Jane B. Moore Field will resume with the conclusion of the Arkansas-Missouri game and four additional games on Friday.

Arkansas third baseman Hannah Gammill tied the game 1-1 with a solo home run on the ninth pitch of her at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning. Missouri quickly regained the lead with Jenna Laird’s RBI double, making it 2-1. This was part of a string of three consecutive hits off Arkansas starting pitcher Morgan Leinstock, who was replaced by reliever Robyn Herron after giving up the runs. Herron threw two strikes before the game was delayed.

Missouri (41-14, 13-11) had scored initially on Maddie Gallagher’s double in the first inning and will resume play with runners on the corners and no outs, with Gallagher up to bat.

Arkansas (36-15, 14-10) struggled against Missouri starting pitcher Cierra Harrison, who held them hitless through the first nine batters. Reagan Smith broke the streak with an infield single in the third inning, followed by another single from Nia Carter, but Harrison struck out slugger Bri Ellis to end the inning.

Gammill’s home run, her 12th of the season, came with two outs on the ninth pitch of her at-bat against Harrison.

The winner of the Arkansas-Missouri game, which will air on the SEC Network on Friday morning, will advance to face eighth-seeded LSU in a semifinal later that day. LSU, after a 2-1 victory over Alabama in 14 innings on Wednesday, eliminated top-seeded and back-to-back SEC champion Tennessee 2-1 on Thursday.
