Quinn Ewers discusses the 2024 expectations for Texas football and provides insights into Arch Manning’s progress.

Last year’s trip to the College Football Playoff reset the standard for Texas football under coach Steve Sarkisian, and with the starting quarterback from that breakout squad back for the 2024 season, the Longhorns have their sights set on a return to the CFP and a run to the national championship. Preseason Heisman Trophy candidate Quinn Ewers said as much in an interview with Robert Griffin III. The reconstruction of a premier wide receiver room, the explosiveness of the Longhorns’ backfield and the outstanding quarterback tandem of Ewers and Arch Manning gives Texas the potential to lead the nation in scoring during their debut campaign in the SEC.

“We take it one day at a time, but we’re all human and we understand what we want to accomplish,” Ewers said on the RG3 and The Ones podcast. “We’ve kind of set our minds on obviously the SEC championship but also Jan. 20, the national championship game.
