Am Leaving: Longhorns TE Amari Niblack announces his last season with the Texas Longhorns due to his…..

After spending his first two collegiate years with the Alabama Crimson Tide, tight end Amari Niblack has transitioned to the Texas Longhorns.

Niblack declared his decision to leave Alabama and entered the transfer portal shortly after the legendary Nick Saban’s retirement in January. This move was a significant loss for the Crimson Tide as he was projected to play a major role in 2024. Now, the Longhorns have acquired one of the top 10 tight ends in college football.

Niblack, a five-star recruit ranked 89th overall in the 2022 recruiting class, recorded 21 receptions for 342 yards and five touchdowns during his two years at Alabama.

Since Steve Sarkisian’s move to Texas three years ago, the Longhorns have successfully recruited several high-caliber players from Alabama, including Isaiah Bond and Jahleel Billingsley.

However, Niblack is expected to make the biggest impact of any former Alabama player. He is set to be a day-one starter for the Longhorns, tasked with filling the role left by Ja’Tavion Sanders, who has moved on to the NFL.
