Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence Responds to Josh Allen’s $150,000,000 Contract Extension

It’s not just Trevor Lawrence who secured a significant contract from the Jacksonville Jaguars this summer. While his $275 million deal stands out, linebacker Josh Allen also signed a major extension, ensuring his stay in Jacksonville for the foreseeable future.

Allen agreed to a five-year, $150 million extension following an impressive 2023 season. The Jaguars have rewarded their star pass rusher for his exceptional performance last year, a move that Lawrence wholeheartedly supports.

Speaking at his Thursday press conference, Lawrence praised his teammate. According to the franchise quarterback, it’s fitting for the team to recognize Allen’s outstanding effort last season:

“I think it’s just big to reward guys for playing really well, especially in a situation like Josh,” Lawrence said, via Myles Simmons of PFT. “He had to have a great year last year and he did it. He had 17.5 sacks and to really be able to do that and put his best foot forward at this point in his career, I feel like he’s gotten better every year. It’s exciting and I think you build around that.”

Allen, a two-time Pro Bowler, will now aim to repay the Jaguars’ trust with an even more impressive performance this coming season. As Lawrence noted, it will be thrilling to see Allen build on his 2023 success.
