Bruins ink Ian Mitchell to one-year, two-way contract extension
The Boston Bruins’ General Manager, Don Sweeney, announced today, June 23, that defenseman Ian Mitchell has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension through the 2024-25 season with an annual salary cap hit of $775,000.
Mitchell, aged 25, played 13 games for Boston during the 2023-24 season, contributing two assists and achieving a plus-six rating. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 192 pounds, he has appeared in a total of 95 NHL games for Boston and Chicago, accumulating four goals and 14 assists for 18 points. Additionally, Mitchell played 42 games with Providence in the 2023-24 season, registering six goals, 18 assists, and a plus-10 rating.
Originally drafted by Chicago as the 57th overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Mitchell hails from St. Albert, Alberta.
