Meet Caitlin Clark’s biggest supporter.
The University of Iowa athlete is dating Connor McCaffery, a fellow basketball player and former Hawkeye. The couple began dating in April 2023 but didn’t go public until four months later when Clark shared a photo with Connor on Instagram, captioning it, “Best end to summer,” alongside images of them cozying up on a boat.
In January 2024, Connor posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to Clark on her 22nd birthday. “Happy Birthday 22. Wish I was there to celebrate with you – you deserve the best day. Golden Bday/T Swift year will be the best yet,” he wrote. “With all that you’ve already accomplished, there is so much more in store for you and your special self. I admire you in every way and I love you.”
Connor’s prediction came true. A month later, Clark became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball history, surpassing Kelsey Plum’s 3,527 points. Connor, along with sports icons like Tom Brady, Billie Jean King, and Brittney Griner, celebrated her achievement on social media.

Connor McCaffery works for the NBA’s Indiana Pacers
After graduating from the University of Iowa in May 2023, Connor began working as a team assistant for the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.
During his time at Iowa, Connor was a dual athlete and earned two bachelor’s degrees in finance and political science. He accepted the Pacers’ job shortly after graduating and approaches his role with a “all-hands on deck” mentality.
“I’ll play dummy defense, run the scout team, help coaches with film analysis, assist on video projects if needed, and work on scouting reports,” he told the Des Moines Register. “Whatever you’re asked to do, be ready to do it.”
