Mark Robins aims to further bolster his Coventry City squad this summer, but there are also existing players who need to prove themselves to be included in his plans.

Several Coventry City players face a pivotal pre-season as manager Mark Robins seeks to elevate his Championship team into serious promotion contenders.

Robins wants to evaluate young or fringe players while senior squad members may be at a career crossroads, looking for guaranteed playing time in an evolving group that has already seen four new signings this summer.

With a full pre-season ahead, Robins will assess his squad and likely bring in more new players to compete for starting positions. Some players have points to prove, while others might recognize it’s time to move on.

Here are six players with everything to prove at Ryton…

After a successful season-long loan at League One Lincoln City, the versatile Sky Blues Academy graduate is eager to show Robins he belongs in the Championship squad. He is a forward-thinking player capable of operating on both wings as a wing-back and in midfield. He boasts impressive speed and is among the quickest in the squad, along with Milan van Ewijk and Fabio Tavares.

“Jack poses a problem for defenders,” Robins said about the player last year. “If he gets more comfortable, he could achieve anything because athletically, he’s a Premier League athlete.”

At 23, he needs regular senior football to continue his development, and it remains to be seen if he can secure a place in the manager’s plans with standout performances this summer.
