The Denver Broncos bolstered their secondary depth this spring by selecting Missouri cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine with a fifth-round pick. Abrams-Draine (5-11, 179 pounds) joins a cornerback group featuring standout Pat Surtain, Ja’Quan McMillian, Riley Moss, Damarri Mathis, and Levi Wallace.

Surtain is recognized as one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, and McMillian has shown promise as a slot defender. Abrams-Draine expressed his enthusiasm about the opportunity to learn from Surtain and the other experienced players in Denver’s secondary.

“I feel like it will be a good opportunity for me because he [Surtain] is obviously one of the best corners in the league,” Abrams-Draine said. “So just to learn from him and all the guys that are there, and really just try to be in their ear, asking them what to do and how the process is [will help].”

Abrams-Draine’s addition aims to strengthen the Broncos’ defensive backfield, providing depth and potential future talent as he develops under the mentorship of seasoned teammates.
