Derby County have announced another pre-season friendly, this time against Spanish side Real Valladolid.
The Rams will host the La Liga team at Pride Park on August 3 at 3pm as part of their preparations for their return to the Championship.
Real Valladolid, owned by former Brazilian superstar Ronaldo, secured promotion to the Spanish top flight last season. Their squad includes former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo and former Chelsea winger Kenedy.
Valladolid finished just two points behind title-winners Leganes, making them a formidable opponent for Derby’s final pre-season match before their Championship campaign begins at Blackburn on August 9. This match concludes Derby’s pre-season schedule, which kicks off with a trip to Matlock next Friday night.
Afterwards, Derby will head to Spain for a pre-season camp where they will face Stockport County, newly promoted to League One. Upon their return, they will play Chesterfield, who won the National League title on July 24, followed by an away game against Shrewsbury three days later. Another fitness test awaits on July 31 with a trip to Barnsley, before wrapping up pre-season with the match against Valladolid.
