Five Free Agent LSU Tigers We Hope Get Signed Before Training Camp

The return of college football and the NFL is just around the corner as we enter the final month without football. With training camp on the horizon, teams will be looking to fill out their rosters in preparation for the preseason. For NFL teams still seeking capable starters, there are five LSU Tigers available who could fit the bill.

Jamal Adams – Safety
At the beginning of the offseason, the Seattle Seahawks released Jamal Adams to save salary cap space as they transition into the post-Pete Carroll era. Surprisingly, no team has signed the former All-Pro to enhance their defense. Despite dealing with numerous injuries, Adams has been a star when healthy, recording 48 tackles in nine games last season. While teams might be hesitant to take a chance on Adams as a safety, he could be a great option at linebacker, especially given his prowess as a blitzer. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Ravens could make the most sense for Adams, as both teams have found ways to be creative with similar players.

Kwon Alexander – Linebacker
Kwon Alexander likely remains unsigned because he’s recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered in Week 10 last season. If Alexander is healthy and ready to play this season, there’s no reason why a team shouldn’t take a chance on the Pro-Bowl linebacker. Throughout his career, Alexander has been one of the most reliable tacklers and has provided solid play in pass coverage. The Ravens stand out as a team that should consider signing the veteran linebacker to bolster their linebacking corps.

Patrick Peterson – Cornerback
Since leaving the Arizona Cardinals, Patrick Peterson has been a solid cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last season with the Steelers, Peterson played all 17 games, recording two interceptions and 42 tackles. Although he may not be the shutdown cornerback he once was, Peterson can still be a valuable piece to a secondary. For teams like the Lions and the Ravens, who have first-round picks at cornerback, having a mentor like Peterson in the room could be invaluable.
