“Very sad to hear: Derby County academy striker has just been banned from all sports for ……….

Derby County striker Owen Oseni has revealed how he sought advice from current Rams forward Dajaune Brown after sealing a move to Gateshead.

Oseni left Pride Park at the end of the season but Gateshead have wasted no time by offering him a two-year deal. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Rushall Olympic, scoring eight goals and registering one assist in 15 games. That was enough to convince Gateshead to make their move.

“I’m very pleased to be here – it’s taken a while but I’m glad to do it now,” he said. “When I spoke to Rob, he said they have been watching me for a while and his plans aligned with my plans, so it was a no brainer to come here.

“I feel like my playing style aligns with that of the team. I think I am going to fit in perfectly. I spoke to Daj (Dajaune Brown) and asked him a few things about the club and he said very good things. It’s easier for me because he’s had first-hand experience. He’s told me everything I need to know. Now it’s time for me to add my game and just push on.”
