The Sydney Roosters are aiming to secure one of their standout juniors, De La Salle Va’a, with a long-term contract to ensure he remains with the club. Having recently demonstrated his skills for Queensland in the U19s State of Origin match, De La Salle is seen as a key part of the Roosters’ future alongside his older brother, Xavier Va’a.
Initially signed from the Brisbane Broncos Academy, De La Salle has already made an impression, being larger than most NRL forwards and making his debut earlier this season. Born in 2005, the Highfields Eagle junior stands at an impressive 198 cm and 114 kg.
Currently contracted until 2026, the Sydney Roosters have offered De La Salle Va’a a two-year contract extension, aiming to keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2028 season, according to The Courier Mail. The future looks promising for the Roosters, with a potential forward pack featuring the Va’a brothers, Lindsay Collins, Terrell May, and Spencer Leniu.
