Elena Rybakina, the 2022 champion and fourth seed, advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals after Anna Kalinskaya withdrew from the match due to a wrist injury.

On Center Court, Kalinskaya got off to a strong start by breaking Rybakina in the opening game, but the latter quickly rallied for a 3-3 victory.

After receiving treatment for her wrist during a medical stoppage late in the opening set at 4-3, Kalinskaya was allowed to finish the match, but Rybakina served the entire set.

In fact, Rybakina’s serve and its strength were especially effective during the match.

In the first game of the second set, Kazakhstan’s Rybakina upset Russia’s Kalinskaya, and after Rybakina used a hold of serve to clinch the break and then broke her opponent once again for a 3-0 lead, Kalinskaya acknowledged she could no longer go on.
