Charlie Lindsay has secured his return to Ireland after leaving Derby County by rejoining Glentoran on a permanent deal.

The former Rangers playmaker spent the second half of last season on loan with the Glens and was one of nine players from Derby’s academy to leave the club at the end of last season.

Lindsay, joined Derby’s Under-21s last summer after leaving Scottish outfit Rangers, but never made a first-team appearance.

But his move to Glentoran seals an emotional return to club where he bcame their youngest-ever player when he made his debut at the age of 15.

Speaking about the move, Glens boss Declan Devine told the club’s website: “Charlie is a lad I’ve known for a long time and I’m delighted we have him back at a club that loves him and means so much to him.
