Martin, a 2018 Edwardsville High School graduate, was not among the top 10 in the all-star voting. The top 10 vote-getters — 50 percent fan voting, 25 percent current player voting and 25 percent media voting — earned automatic bids into the all-star game, which is scheduled for July 20 in Phoenix. The all-star game will pit Team USA against Team WNBA.

To fill out the 12-player Team WNBA roster, those among the top 36 vote-getters were eligible for selection

As of Tuesday night, the WNBA had not released the full voting totals.

The top five did include Martin’s former college teammate Caitlin Clark, who had the most votes with 700,735. Clark’s teammate with the Indiana Fever, Aliyah Boston, was second with 618,680. Martin’s Las Vegas teammate, A’ja Wilson, was third with 607,300.

When the WNBA released its results from its first round of fan voting on June 21, Martin was 12th with 91,565 votes. She was less than 6,000 votes from cracking the top 10.

Don Ohl is the only Edwardsville High School grad to be selected to play in an all-star game among the six major professional organizations – NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS and WNBA — in the United States. He made the last of his five all-star game appearances in 1967 as a member of the Baltimore Bullets.
