The Detroit Lions have genuine Super Bowl aspirations for 2024, following one of the best seasons in their history in 2023. They are positioned for sustained success beyond this season, largely due to general manager Brad Holmes, who has skillfully assembled a roster blending seasoned veterans with promising young talent. Holmes’ adept drafting has played a significant role in the team’s transformation.

Given this strong foundation, it’s no wonder multiple Sports Illustrated writers predict the Lions will secure a Super Bowl victory within the next five years. Notably, SI’s Greg Bishop foresees Detroit winning two championships in that period.

Out of eight Sports Illustrated writers, five believe the Lions will win at least one Super Bowl over the next five years, with Bishop being the only one to predict two victories.

Whether the Lions can meet these high expectations remains to be seen, but their roster certainly has the potential. Emerging star pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson believes the team’s hype is justified and says they are prepared for the challenge.

“It’s unreal. There’s a lot of hype coming into this year, but I think it’s well-deserved hype,” Hutchinson told ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I think a lot more guys on our team understand what this year is, and we understand what we got and we’re all ready.”

It’s astonishing to see how far the Lions have come. Once considered the perennial underdogs of the NFL, they are now being tipped to win multiple Super Bowls in the near future.
