Wrexham is one of several Football League clubs interested in signing John McAtee from Luton Town during the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old, who joined Luton in 2022, has not yet played for the team, having spent the last two seasons on loan, first with Grimsby and most recently with Barnsley.

A permanent exit might be on the horizon for John McAtee, as HITC reports that Wrexham, Derby, Blackburn, Millwall, Portsmouth, Plymouth, and Bolton are all showing interest

Significantly, the update indicates that Luton are prepared to sell McAtee during the transfer window. Despite his brief appearances for Rob Edwards’ side in pre-season, the recently relegated team has numerous options in the attacking positions, making it hard for McAtee to secure a spot in the starting lineup. Thus, an exit could be beneficial for everyone involved

The exact fee required is still uncertain, but the high level of competition for McAtee’s signature should work in Luton’s favor if they aim to increase the price.
