After scoring 14 goals and adding seven assists with St. Gallen in Switzerland during the 2019/20 season, Demirovic contributed five goals and ten assists in 30 league matches for Freiburg in 2020/21. Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Demirovic moved from Freiburg to Augsburg on a free transfer. At Augsburg, he regained his form, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in 30 Bundesliga games during the 2022/23 season, culminating in a breakthrough performance last season.
