Since FC Barcelona’s initial years, the mentality of the club has been quite critical of the biggest European championship, the Champions League. Though it took a much longer time than was expected to get their hands on their first UCL trophy, the struggle of the initial years showed the way to establish their dominance in European football.

The Catalan club saw its glory prevail in every Champions League during the 2010 decade, with Barca lifting the meritorious trophy twice, in 2009 and 2011. This period saw the rise of various superstars, like Leo Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi, and Gerard Pique, with the greatest mastermind, Pep Guardiola, managing them.

However, since Barca’s last Champions League triumph, more than nine years have passed, and the club has seen some of the most heartbreaking exits from UCL. In recent situations, the club’s European glory has stood at an all-time low, accounted for by their 18th position in UEFA’s 2024 club ranking.

Pedri wants to win the Champions League

Recently, having changed many things at the club, Barca is slowly moving to regain the momentum and stability to improve their odds for a successful Champions League run. Appointing the German tactician Hansi Flick, witnessing a gem of talent in Lamine Yamal, and making improved transfer decisions, the club has been doing things in the right direction.

Regarding the same, Barcelona star midfielder Pedri has shown his hunger that he is ready to do anything to help Barcelona achieve the UCL dream. Pedri said,

““I have won La Liga and the Euros, but now I want to achieve the World Cup and the Champions League.””
