He’s coming: Harrison Burrows is set to join the Birmingham City as the deal is done overnight just…….
Birmingham City are set to miss out on the signing of fullback Harrison Burrows as the Peterborough United captain looks set to move to the Championship.
Alan Swann of the Peterborough Telegraph has revealed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Sheffield United are set to win the race for the 22-year-old and that Burrows will complete his transfer to Bramall Lane over the next 48 hours
Furthermore, in his report for the same outlet, Swann has stated that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs worth £3 million and will have significant add-ons included in the deal “related to personal and club success”.
The left-back underwent a medical with the Blades several weeks ago but a move was held up as a result of Sheffield United‘s prospective takeover reaching an impasse. However, it now looks as though this will no longer be an issue moving forward, with the South Yorkshire outfit ready to cough up the agreed money to finalise the deal.
Burrows had an excellent season for Peterborough United last season in League One, recording 16 assists and scoring seven times in 43 appearances despite primarily playing on the left side of a back four. His impressive displays at the Weston Homes Stadium have piqued the interest of a number of clubs in the EFL
It has been widely reported over the past few weeks that Preston North End have been keen to sign Burrows, while Birmingham City were also said to be interested in the fullback before the club secured the signing of Heart of Midlothian star Alex Cochrane for £1.3 million with add-ons.
