A year after joining RC Lens from Paris FC, Morgan Guilavogui (26) is poised to move to Bundesliga’s St Pauli on a loan deal with an option to buy, according to L’Equipe.

Guilavogui’s lone season at Lens did not meet expectations. Despite a remarkable performance in Ligue 2, where he scored 16 goals in 32 matches for Paris FC, the Guinea international struggled to adjust to the top tier. He faced tough competition from Elye Wahi (21), Florian Sotoca (33), and Wesley Saïd (29), resulting in only three starts in all competitions last season, with two goals in 28 appearances. Seeking more playing time, the 28-year-old forward is set for his first experience abroad.

St Pauli, recently promoted to the Bundesliga after clinching the second tier title on the final day, aims to bolster their attacking lineup for a potentially challenging season. Despite limited game time last season, Guilavogui participated in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League with Lens. This experience could be valuable for the young German team, which is set to acquire the forward on loan with an option to buy, reports L’Equipe.
