After placing several players on injured lists ahead of the start of training camp on Wednesday, the Detroit Lions have now activated three of them.

According to Jeremy Reisman from Pride of Detroit, the Lions have activated defensive back Brian Branch and edge rusher Marcus Davenport from the active/physically unable to perform list, and rookie offensive tackle Giovanni Manu from the active/non-football injury list.

Manu’s inclusion on the injured list was surprising given his participation in the offseason program, but it appears there was no serious issue, and he is ready for training camp.

Brian Branch, Marcus Davenport, and Giovanni Manu are all officially off the injury lists and participated in practice to varying degrees.

Branch and Davenport spent the spring recovering from injuries, so their presence on the PUP list was expected. Head coach Dan Campbell mentioned that both players were close to returning.

“You’ll see Davenport out there today, you’ll see Branch out there today in walkthrough, so these guys are slowly going,” Campbell said. “I think Davenport is going to be a little quicker than Branch is, but they’ll both be out there in some capacity, which is a good sign. So, no setbacks, we’re moving right along.”

The Lions will practice from Wednesday through Saturday before taking a break on Sunday. The team will don pads for the first time on Monday, as revealed by Campbell earlier in the day.
