SO SAD TO LEAVE: Sea Eagles head coach announces his leaving after involving in a $1.5million criminal deal with…..

It was an unhappy return for Des Hasler as his new team, the Titans, were dominated by his former club, Manly, at Brookvale on Sunday.

Hasler walked back into 4Pines Park for the first time since his controversial dismissal by the Sea Eagles at the end of 2022.

His departure remains a legal issue, with the Gold Coast coach seeking up to a $1.5 million payout from his former club, and a two-day hearing scheduled for November.

The 63-year-old had an afternoon to forget, as Manly triumphed 38-8 on their home ground.

Hasler’s frustration was evident as the cameras showed him in the coaches’ box during the closing stages, with seemingly everything going wrong for the two-time premiership winner.

Manly fans neither cheered nor booed him, as his primary concern was now the Titans, who are languishing in 15th place after their three-game winning streak was broken.

Meanwhile, Manly is on the verge of a finals berth, with veteran back Luke Brooks nearing his first appearance in the series following a stellar performance.
