Earlier this week, it was revealed that Manchester United have intensified their efforts to strengthen their full-back positions.

Their left-back options seem particularly sparse as the new season approaches. Tyrell Malacia has not played for the club in nearly 14 months and remains far from full fitness. Luke Shaw also had an injury-plagued season, although he returned to play for England this summer. This entitles him to a minimum three-week break, causing him to miss the pre-season tour in the US.

As a result, the club’s recruitment strategy has shifted to prioritize finding a new left-back.

On Wednesday, The Peoples Person reported that United are considering Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell, Feyenoord’s David Hancko, and former Chelsea player Marcos Alonso as potential candidates.

Now, HITC has added another name to the list. Their report claims United are also monitoring Archie Brown this summer.

Brown, an Englishman and product of Derby County’s academy, has been included in United’s targets following an impressive stint in Belgium with Gent. The 22-year-old made 44 appearances in all competitions for the Belgian club, contributing four assists.

Interestingly, INEOS, who own Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland, signed Brown in 2021 before his move to Gent. His performance at the INEOS-owned club led to his transfer to Gent.
