Aston Villa are planning to sign Barcelona’s Raphinha this summer, according to sources from Football Insider.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Unai Emery intends to reinvest the funds from Moussa Diaby’s sale.

Football Insider reported that Emery is looking to bring in a “lethal” attacking replacement for Diaby, and Raphinha fits that profile.

With his Premier League experience, the 27-year-old is seen as a potentially “really good signing” for Villa.

Despite already securing Jaden Philogene to enhance their attacking options, Villa are aiming for a “big-money signing.”

Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds in 2022 and scored 10 goals while providing 13 assists in 37 games last season.
