July 29, (THEWILL) – Jon Rahm claimed his first LIV Golf victory on Sunday, at the LIV United Kingdom event in Rocester, England. The Spanish golfer finished with a score of 13-under-par 271 at JCB Golf and Country Club, narrowly beating Tyrrell Hatton by one stroke.

Rahm’s final round of 4-under-par 67 included five birdies and one bogey. The win marks his first tournament victory since joining LIV Golf in December 2023. Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, and Cameron Smith tied for second place at 12-under-par.

Legion XIII, captained by Rahm, won the team competition with a score of 26-under-par. This is their fourth team title of the 2024 season. Ripper GC, led by Smith, finished second at 23-under-par.

 

The victory is significant for Rahm, who had not won a tournament since the 2023 Masters. He plans to compete for Spain in the upcoming Paris Olympics. The LIV Golf tour continues to attract top talent, with Rahm joining in late 2023 when he was ranked third in the world.

This win solidifies Rahm’s position in the LIV Golf tour and demonstrates his ability to compete at the highest level in this new golfing format. The close finish and team competition add excitement to the growing LIV Golf series.
