Bolton Wanderers have secured the signing of midfielder Scott Arfield on a one-year contract.
The 35-year-old veteran has experience in the top three divisions of the English Football League, the Scottish Premiership, and most recently Major League Soccer with Charlotte, where he moved in 2023.
Arfield was part of Sean Dyche’s Burnley team that won the Championship in 2016 and helped Rangers clinch the Scottish Premiership title in 2021 under Steven Gerrard.
“Scotty has obviously had a very good career and was playing in a Europa League final not so long ago,” Bolton manager Ian Evatt said on the club’s website.
“He’s been playing regularly in the MLS and is still able to perform effectively.
“He wants to contribute on the pitch and also off it. His experienced voice away from the staff will be invaluable to us.”
Arfield is Bolton’s fourth signing of the summer.
